Introducing the "GrandScape!"
We are thrilled to introduce our latest creation... the "GrandScape." It's an 80" wide, masterfully designed and crafted work of art featuring your family. As the name suggests, the GrandScape is specifically designed to showcase the grand nature of a landscape. You might have family property that is near and dear to your heart, or you just might select any number of East Texas' beautiful landscapes or city-scapes. The example images we have shown depict families off in the distance, small in comparison to the entire image, however your portrait could be different. It could include your family, pets, horses, or it could simply be a beautiful landscape without any other subject matter. We must have been very good in 2011 because Santa brought the Studio something very nice! A new 44" Printer. We already have so many incredible plans for this printer. Stay tuned!

Last month we went to Lufkin to photograph Jimmy Stanaland... Brookshire Bros.' Lifetime Achievement Award Winner. It put a whole new meaning to the word "freeze-frame" as the commercial shoot needed to display their warehouse freezer. Luckily we didn't need to go into the Deep Freeze which was said to be 20° below. We were happy to stay in an area that was a balmy 20°F.

Just4Fun Peek-a-boo Santa photoss. Santa is a good friend of the studio. And he came by last week to say hi to all the good little boys and girls. But he couldn't stay long because he still has lots to do before Christmas. See you soon Santa!

We started off with a 3month session where beautiful Emma just blew us away with her smiles and laughs. Then we ended it all by adding in four other precious cuties. Y'all have to come back. It's just too much fun!

G. Patterson Studio & Haunted House
We're turning the studio into a Haunted House this year for Halloween! This will be a real haunted house designed with the younger kiddos in mind. They can expect some spooky (but not too scary) decorations, lots of Halloween candy and a fun festive photo to remember it all. Make sure to come dressed up in your Halloween costumes... you too parents. Guide your little ones through our Haunted House, pose them for a quick photo, then get some candy while your photo is being printed up. It should be a real treat for children and parents alike. Our efforts this year in giving the children a Happy Halloween is just one fun way for us to give back to the community. Hope to see you here!

Another Bundle of Joy! {G. Patterson Studio - Newborn Portraits}
There are few things that I enjoy more than photographing newborns. If you can get them in by 2 weeks old, they are really fun to work with. While you position them for the cutest poses you can imagine, they just stay asleep, offering up those precious expressions of squirminess, contentment, delight, and frustration. I love it! Remember to tread lightly when walking around though. The slightest rumble or footstep can change the mood of the entire session.
Thank you Tina for an incredible photo session. Your entire family is beautiful inside and out, and you truly make it a joy every time we see you. Congratulations to the whole fam on your new addition!

The Soverns' Happy Expectations! {G. Patterson Studio - Maternity Portraits}
We were delighted to get a phone call from Kathy a few weeks ago about having her maternity portraits made. The maternity session is one that Mothers miss out on all too often. We hear repeatedly from our clients how they wished they had thought to have that special moment captured by quality portraiture. But Kathy needed no reminding or prompting. She knew she wanted this special moment remembered.
She brought her family with her to our studio for her planning consultation one week before her portrait session. Her precious 2 year old daughter was a bit shy at first. So we invited her to play in our playhouse, watch movies and play with all the toys she could stand while we spoke with Mom and Dad. Well, that worked just as we planned. The next week, during their session, there was absolutely no more shyness. We were best of friends!
The session went so smoothly and we captured some amazing portraits. Thanks Kathy and family for letting us be a part of this special time in your lives. Good luck with your upcoming delivery! We will be thinking of you.
